The START+ concept was born when our researchers were able to select specific galacto-oligosaccharides or GOS, that effectively mimic the functions of human milk oligosaccharides or HMOs.
These natural prebiotics are found in mother’s milk. In sow milk similar structures are found and called porcine milk oligosaccharides or PMOs. Just like HMOs or PMOs, the specific mixture of GOS inside START+ promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria, improves gut morphology and improves overall health. So even when piglets don’t receive enough colostrum or milk, they can still get a head start in life.
